Delete your account or your data
Budget Vista keeps your financial figures on your own phone by default, and only holds an account and — if you have switched it on — a synced copy of your plan on our servers. This page explains both ways to delete either one.
1. In the app (fastest — takes effect immediately)
Open Budget Vista, go to You → Danger zone, and choose one:
Delete my data
Erases your income, expenses, debts, savings, goals and every scenario from this phone and, if you are signed in, the synced copy on our servers. Your account, sign-in, PIN and settings are kept. Confirmed by typing a word, because it cannot be undone.
Delete my synced copy
If you had sync switched on, removes the copy of your plan and scenarios stored on our servers, and turns sync off. Your account, and the figures on your phone, stay. Found under You → Danger zone; confirmed by typing a word.
Delete account
Removes your account and, if you had sync switched on, your synced plan — both from our servers — then wipes your figures, PIN and settings from this phone. Confirmed by typing a word, because it cannot be undone: there is no copy anywhere for us to restore from once it completes.
2. Without the app (by request)
If you cannot open the app — a lost phone, an uninstalled app, or any other reason — write to our Information Officer at privacy@dolme.co.za from the email address on your account and say whether you want your account deleted, your synced data deleted, or both. We will confirm your identity against that account and action the request within 30 days, as POPIA requires.
What actually gets deleted
- Your account record (email, name) held with our authentication provider, Supabase.
- Your synced plan (baseline and decisions), if sync was ever switched on.
- The financial figures, PIN and settings stored on the device you delete them from.
What may be kept, and for how long
- Crash and error reports (held by Sentry): never contain your figures and are generally not identifiable to you. They are deleted on Sentry's retention schedule.
- Subscription and purchase records (held by RevenueCat and Google Play): kept for as long as financial and legal record-keeping requires. Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription — cancel it in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
- Account email delivery records (held by Resend): deleted on Resend's retention schedule.
- Advertising information (held by Google AdMob, free version only): governed by Google's own retention schedule; we hold none of it.
